Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network
The Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network (AEGN) enables meaningful, high-impact philanthropy and collaborative action to support Australia’s contribution to global environment targets.
The AEGN is the largest member organisation for environmental philanthropy in the Southern Hemisphere. Comprised of foundations, family trusts and high-net-worth individuals, AEGN members are united by a collective purpose to protect nature and secure a safe climate for future generations.
Established in 2008 by passionate philanthropists, the AEGN provides a space to connect with a community of likeminded donors on environmental funding opportunities, strategies and experiences. Our pursuit is not just growing environmental giving, but ensuring it is strategic, impact-focused, collaborative and guided by both First Nations wisdom and western scientific knowledge. We envisage a renewable energy future where wildlife is rich and abundant, and farmers are supported to grow fresh food in ways that regenerate the soil and promote the health of our land and waterways.
Philanthropy plays a unique role as a catalyst of people and organisations across the public, private and community sectors, creating outsized collective impact and giving our future generations a thriving world. The AEGN is a driving force for our interconnected planetary challenges, ensuring our children inherit a clean and regenerative land they’re proud to call home. This isn’t just aspirational – it’s essential for our survival.
