Common Ground Project

Common Ground Project (CGP) is a regenerative farm, social enterprise and community space located on Wadawurrung Country in Freshwater Creek, Victoria. Dedicated to building a fairer and more connected food system, CGP combines sustainable agriculture with education, community engagement, and social impact initiatives around the universal love of food.

One of its core programs, Staying Grounded, creates training and employment pathways in hospitality for women from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Leveraging the small-scale farm and on-site commercial kitchen, the program provides hands-on, culturally safe opportunities for women to develop skills in hospitality, horticulture, events and food systems. Participants are also supported to prepare for job interviews, develop a resume, and understand their rights in an Australian workplace so that they can build confidence, financial independence, and long-term career pathways.
