Geelong Sustainability Celebrates 18 Years of Community-Led Climate Action Across The Barwon Region

This year, Geelong Sustainability celebrates 18 years of community-led climate action across the Barwon region. Thanks to funding support from the PMF Foundation, we’ve been able to stay true to our purpose: building a powerful community movement for a just transition to a net zero future.

PMF’s support has enabled us to deepen our impact and expand our reach. In the past year, we’ve engaged over 20,000 people across the region - empowering our community to take real climate action and push for systemic change.

With PMF’s support, we’ve expanded our Climate Safe Rooms program, providing life-changing climate resilience upgrades to vulnerable households. We’ve deepened our education and engagement efforts, fostering greater awareness of climate justice and strengthening community ties. Our advocacy efforts have also grown - co-leading a grassroots campaign opposing Viva Energy’s proposed gas terminal, mobilising voters through the Vote Climate campaign during the federal election and meeting with key decision makers to drive policy change.

PMF’s investment, alongside our other funders, partners and supporters, allows us to do what we exist to do - lead, inspire and activate our community to take climate action, together.
