Right now, one in four people in Australia experience disadvantage through poverty, exclusion or deprivation. Current systems are not set up to support them, but with more effective policy, better funding, improved practice and collaboration, we can shift the dial on disadvantage.

SVA was founded almost 24 years ago to speed up innovation in the social sector. And working at the intersection of community, business and government gives us a unique perspective of the social sector, its challenges, and the creative solutions that will support better outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage in Australia. It means we can independently ask: ‘Is there a better way?’ Too hard is no excuse.
