Social Traders

Social enterprises trade not just for profit, but to employ people facing barriers to work, strengthen communities and raise funds for charities. For almost 20 years, Social Traders has backed them to do it, certifying over 1,100 social enterprises nationwide since 2008 - with more than 700 relying on that certification today to prove they genuinely exist to serve a social or environmental purpose.

Certification alone isn't enough - we connect certified social enterprises with the corporate, SME and government partners who can back them - as customers, but also as sources of expertise, capital and talent.

By 2035, our strategy will drive $5.5 billion in procurement spend and $2.5 billion in pro bono expertise, infrastructure, capital and talent to certified social enterprises. With it, they'll create 50,000 jobs and 4.5 million training hours for people furthest from work, invest $440 million in more affordable or accessible products and services to meet community needs, and contribute $84 million in funds and 675,000 volunteer hours back to their communities.

The goal: a future where the social performance of social enterprise is the standard every Australian business is measured against.
