How do we select our Major Grant recipients?
At PMF Foundation, every grant we make is guided by a simple question: Will this project or organisation create lasting impact for people and communities across Australia?
Behind each funding decision is a careful process designed to ensure our support strengthens projects that matter most. We look for initiatives that:
Align with our focus areas – Education (keeping kids engaged and in school), Environment (conservation and sustainability), First Nations (community-led priorities), and Medical Research (advancing discovery and treatment). We also strive for balance across these four pillars, ensuring our funding has broad and equitable impact.
Prioritise prevention – We favour projects that address root causes and reduce the need for reactive measures.
Strive for systemic change – We seek out organisations with bold ideas that aim to shift systems, not just symptoms.
Build capacity and sustainability – We value projects that create long-term change, not short-term fixes.
Collaborate for strength – Partnerships often lead to more resilient and scalable results.
PMF Foundation reviews applications in detail, drawing on expertise and evidence to guide decisions. This ensures we see not just the statistics, but also the stories and opportunities behind each proposal.
By funding a diverse range of initiatives across Australia, PMF Foundation works to respond to urgent challenges while investing in long-term solutions that create real, lasting change.
